If you have ever dined at Alma, you must have noticed those lovely paintings by Singapore based Japanese artist, Tsuyumi Miwa. Tsuyumi has been involved in the arts for most of her life. Having studied fine art at Tama Art University in Tokyo and worked as an actress and announcer on radio and television for many years before leaving Japan. She has been working as an artist here in Singapore for a the last few years, creating artworks and developing her style, which echoes elements of Joaquín Sorolla and Andrew Wyeth in her use of light and shadow. Ms Miwa presents her new exhibition “A Child’s View”. A selection of paintings in which she captures the enchanting and innocent, fleeting moments in the lives of children. This exhibition is being held in collaboration with the Singapore Musical Box Museum from 17th of April until the 6th of June. The theme “A Child’s View” connects with the magical whimsey of the musical boxes on display at the museum and celebrates the wonder of children all over the world. All paintings are for sale and part of the proceeds will be donated to VIVA, a registered Singapore-based charity which focuses saving the lives of children with cancer through excellence in research, medical care and education. 🤗
