This year, because of the pandemic, many people will be unable to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival under the same roof. So at Shangri-La we want to help evoke the true meaning of this festive holiday and give recognition and support to those who continue to be impacted by separation. "Born and raised in Cebu, Philippines, my passion for music and love for entertainment has led me to pursue a career at Shangri-La Singapore as a Recreation Executive. Time flies indeed — it has been 1 year and 4 months since! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have not been able to travel back to my homeland to reunite with my loved ones for quite some time. However, I am extremely grateful that I am still able to keep in touch with them via video calls. This makes me feel close to them, although we are actually miles apart. Through these video calls, we often bond with each other by caroling and singing karaoke, sharing our love for music. During work, I conduct singing and dancing sessions for children. Interacting with these lovely, boisterous and energetic children definitely helps to lift my spirits up amidst these unprecedented times. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, but it is during these times that make me cherish my loved ones and the people around me even more. I am looking forward to the day I can reunite with my family!"
