This afternoon, trainees from TOUCH Centre for Independent Living (Bukit Merah) attended the third session of the 4 week long equine assisted therapy programme by Singapore Polo Club’s Outreach team. The group enjoyed a polo demonstration on Esperanza by Sanaullah Khan, the Club’s polo professional. At the covered arena, he demonstrated the four strokes of polo - forehand, backhand, nearside forehand and nearside backhand. They also watched Esperanza moved in various gears i. e walking, trotting and cantering. An interactive quiz was then handed out to the trainees and they went to the stables looking for answers, together with their coaches and the volunteers. The quiz tested their knowledge on what has been taught in the past few weeks and everyone did very well. Looks like they are well-equipped for their final session next week – horse riding!
