#GRADtitude Thank you Maygen Chua for choosing to join us for an internship! Your hard work is greatly appreciated. Maygen is cheerful, confident and beaming with energy. She gets along famously with her colleagues and is simply a joy to have around in the kitchen. Highly motivated and quick on her feet, Maygen was able to adapt to the pace of the kitchen within a short time. We will definitely miss Maygen when she returns to school. Here’s wishing Maygen all the best, and we look forward to welcoming her back to Les Amis again. “I was always exposed to the F&B industry as my parents are bakers. To my mom, I am a constant reminder of my late grandfather who was also a chef. I would very much to further my exposure into fine dining arena. Hence, I decided to pursue an internship at Les Amis Restaurant. During my internship. I worked at different stations – meat, entremetier and butchery. I enjoyed working at the meat station most, as it kept me on my toes and gave me the opportunity to handle multiple tasks at the same time. During my internship, I learnt to stay calm and be alert at all times. Chef Sebastien once told me that when you are not calm, you are more likely to mess up as you are not in focus. The last day of my internship was definitely my highlight. It was when I realised how far I’ve come, despite all the moments I felt like giving up. I am grateful for all the valuable lessons that I've learnt over the last few months.” - Maygen Chua @maygenchuayl @itecollegewest @ite_hfscw
