Eight more days left to European Film Festival in Singapore and we think these titles deserve your attention. First up is nature docu TALE OF THE SLEEPING GIANTS, with spectacular footage of Lapland’s pristine landscape and its wild inhabitants. Next, our focus falls on Ukraine, with two films that tackle the on-going conflict in engagingly different ways – THE EXCHANGE and CONFINE (KORDON). We also like the film about a woman diagnosed with terminal cancer, HOPE, which is partially based on the filmmaker’s own experience. Then, there is PRECIOUS IVIE, which explores mixed-race identity. Those in the mood for a crime thriller with an Eastern European flavor, we recommend THE WHISTLERS. And finally, a more solemn type of action awaits as both FATHER & SON navigate the battlefields of WWI. - Schedule at a glance - Thu 25 May 8.30pm: The Exchange (NC16) from Ukraine Sat 27 May 2pm: Tale of Sleeping Giants (PG) from Finland 4.30pm: Hope (M18) from Norway Sun 28 May 2pm: Precious Ivie (Ivie Wie Ivie) from Germany 5pm: The Whistlers (La Gomera) from Romania 8pm: Confine (Kordon) from Italy Tue 30 May 8pm: Father & Son (Tirailleurs) from France Exclusively at The Projector.
