Repost: Excess food should be stored, not binned! πŸ™…πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ—‘ Storing food is not only a great way to reduce food waste, but also helps you save money! πŸ’΅ Here are 5 tips from @nea_sg that have worked for us: 1) Store it correctly. Follow the storage instructions on the product’s packaging. Some items must be kept in the fridge after opening. 2) Check your fridge. The chiller operates best between 0Β°C and 4Β°C, and the freezer at -18Β°C and below. 3) Store better. Chips, crackers and cereals last the longest when kept in airtight containers. Or use airtight bag clips! 4) Practise β€œfirst to expire, first out.” Place products that are nearer to their expiry dates at the front of the fridge, freezer or cabinet so that you to use them asap. 5) Use the freezer. Box up leftovers by the portion and freeze them so that they last longer and can be reheated easily for the next meal.
