Maybank pledges $500,000 over the next two years to support five Community Development Councils in their job fair efforts. The CDCs, in collaboration with the NTUC's Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), will bring a series of job fairs and programmes named Maybank-CDC Jobs & Skills Series to the communities. Dr John Lee, Country CEO and CEO of Maybank Singapore attended North East Community Development Council's Career Discovery @ North East today, the first job fair of the series, along with the Mayor of North East District, Mr Desmond Choo, and CEO of NTUC's e2i, Mr Gilbert Tan. Dr John Lee said, "With this initiative, we hope to support jobseekers in finding employment and also help businesses with their hiring needs. Beyond funding, the bank will also tap our customer network to bring our SME customers onboard to participate in the job fairs. This initiative is aligned with Maybank’s mission of Humanising Financial Service, and our sustainability goal to uplift communities and improve the lives of 1 million households across ASEAN by 2025."
