No instructions, no expectations, and no specific pressure to complete anything in one specific way. This is the anatomy of good open-ended play. We'd like to think of open-ended toys as '80% Child and 20% Toy', because you can pass them along to 10 different children and they will return with 10 different ways to play it - the differences often shaped by their varying interests, developmental stages, and strength in different intelligences. This basically implie s that a truly good open-ended toy is one that will engage a toddler, pre-schooler, primary schooler, and sometimes even a teenager - in equal and yet, different forms; and for that reason, buying open-ended toys should be seen as more than just 'buying a toy', but instead, as making an investment in long-term play that continues to teach, even through the years. #thebettertoystore #bettertoysbetterfun #HABA
