Did you know? Clothing is one of the best forms of protection against sun damage and skin cancer. Unlike sunscreen, it doesn’t have to be reapplied regularly to maintain its effectiveness. Our UV cut pocketable parkas made with UV cut fabric, have an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) value of 40, while regular cotton shirts have UPF values only between 5 to 10. What’s UPF? UPF measures the amount of UV radiation that can penetrate fabric and reach your skin. Like SPF, the higher the number, the less UV radiation that passes through. With a UPF of 40, the UV Cut Pocketable Parkas only allow one-fortieth (2.5%) of harmful UV rays to reach the skin, significantly reducing the wearer’s exposure to harmful UV rays.
