A fiery mishap sparks a gem of an idea for another Singapore Polytechnic team! Cofeco clinched one of the top spots as well as RiverHongbao 2022’s ‘Most Innovative Award’ with their cool idea of turning discarded coffee grounds into useful products such as solid fuel, candles, and accessory trays. The interesting idea of making solid fuel came about when the pan on which they were drying coffee grounds caught fire. It was the spark point to make other products using this common waste and using handy pointers from Mapletree’s retail mentor, they managed to increase their brand awareness and even gained useful feedback to refine their products further.
