This Good Friday, we’re delving into the new Elements of Islay arrivals! The medicinal, almost ‘elemental’ character of Islay malt whiskies was the inspiration for the laboratory-style bottle and element symbol/number naming system used across the Elements range (Lp1, Ar2, and so on). Coincidentally, even the 50cl bottle used throughout the Elements range is called ‘pharmacy’. Every Elements bottle bears the signature of a whisky authority, so you can be confident of the quality of the liquid inside. We’re especially excited about the Peat Cubed Root arrival. An LMDW exclusive, Peat Cubed Root is a blend of Laphroaig and Caol Ila aged in bourbon casks, and Octomore aged in an oloroso sherry cask; this version repeatedly explores peaty, smoky, floral, fruity and medicinal paths which form a triangle whose hypotenuse crosses from the north to the south of Islay. Very Laphroaig, with its oily peat and very fruity register. Very Caol Ila, with its notes of freshly cut grass and profoundly marine character, and very Octomore, with a power that brings out a very delicate minerality. It feeds on all of these strong influences to forge a unique and charming personality. The taster is free to explore a palette of aromas and flavours, with distinct taste markers illuminating these three Islay distilleries. Check out the new arrivals on Whisky.SG or at our storefront, open from 2pm - 10pm.
