ARTIST TALK BY ONG KIM SENG: PAINTING WITH LIM CHENG HOE Sunday 5 May, 2pm, City Hall Wing, L4 Gallery Ong Kim Seng is one of Singapore’s leading watercolourists. In this talk, Ong discusses the development of his own watercolour practice and shares his experiences of painting with Lim Cheng Hoe. This session will begin with remarks by President of Singapore Watercolour Society, Seah Kang Chui. This talk is held in conjunction with the exhibition Lim Cheng Hoe: Painting Singapore. ABOUT THE ARTIST Ong Kim Seng, born in 1945 and one of Singapore’s best known watercolourists, is largely a self-taught artist who learnt by observing pioneer watercolourists who painted by the Singapore River. In 1999 Ong was awarded the Cultural Medallion by the Singapore government, and in 2000 the prestigious Dolphin Fellowship by the American Watercolour Society, the only Asian to receive such an honour.
