An exclusive preview of our new Freakcake: [THE Mao Shan Wang Freakcake] We really, really love our durians, and like all hardcore durian fans, we suffer from those dreaded withdrawal symptoms in between durian seasons. Never again, we said. So here we are, with our 100% Mao Shan Wang Freakcake, a decadent treat made with layers of rich, luscious Mao Shan Wang French buttercream, sandwiched between moist and fluffy cotton cake sponges. Each bite reveals chunks of real Mao Shan Wang flesh, with a teeny bit of brandy laced in the cake layers ( for that extra oomph). The Gula Melaka Brown Butter Crumble scattered around the base of the cake adds a toasty, umami-esque crunch to the whole ensemble. See that cute little blue Square on the cake? That's our gula melaka marshmallow, made from scratch and coated with dessicated coconut- close your eyes when you sink your teeth in this, and you might mistake it for an extremely bouncy and fluffy Onde Onde.
