WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON? Politicians, Artists and Political Theatre Part of WILD@Home’s Art & Life Series 2 July (Thursday), 9pm SGT Going Live on our Facebook and YouTube channel Singapore theatre has not shied away from representing politicians on stage. We have met political candidates in Robert Yeo’s thought-provoking dramas and ministers and ministers-of-state in Tan Tarn How’s razor-sharp satires. Alfian Sa’at has written plays inspired by the hotly contested general elections of 2011 and 2015. But are there still places where theatre-makers fear to tread? At the same time, while artists have talked about politics, how do politicians talk about art? As election season heats up, we scrutinise the various parties’ manifestos and their positions on arts and culture. How will each one score? While we all get ready to head to the ballot box, join playwrights Tan Tarn How, Nabilah Said and Adeeb Fazah for this candid and insightful discussion, moderated by our Resident Playwright Alfian Sa’at.
