A simple "How was your day?" can lead to open conversations, so do speak to your kids more often to help them to open up. Create a space where they can feel comforted, feel safe and comforted enough to reach out to you. Children need to be able to experience all kinds of emotions and learn to deal with them rather than suppressing them, thus always allow them to ask questions and talk about their discomforts and challenges whether it is in school or at home.
