18th March 2022 is World Sleep Day. One third of our world population actually experience sleep difficulties. It is either difficulty in πππ₯π₯π’π§π ππ¬π₯πππ© or π¬πππ²π’π§π ππ¬π₯πππ©. According to the insomnia statistics in March 2022, sleep disorders are increasing. β’ 75% of adult suffer from insomnia. β’ 23% of adults have trouble sleeping due to stress and anxiety. β’ 63.3% of women experience insomnia. β’ 20% of teenagers get less than 5 hours of sleep. β’ 43% of people aged 65 or older experience sleep difficulties. β’ 25% of children suffer from behavioural insomnia. Brain imaging studies that show what is happening when you sleep suggest that a good night's sleep helps build mental and emotional resilience. However, if you regularly experience poor sleep, this can create conditions for negative thinking and emotional vulnerabilities. We have put together some tips for sleep hygiene.
