Not only does Anissa Bonnefont have two movies in this Fesitval – one a drama about sex workers (“La Maison”), the other this docu about an Afghan refugee turned soccer star – her debut “Wonder Boy” followed Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing on a quest to search for his biological parents. In a similar, um, fashion, Nadia Nadim, the heroine of this docu, whom Bonnefort shadowed for 18 months, was on a quest to uncover the truth about her father’s execution when she was a little girl, only to be foiled by the Taliban returning to power in 2021.
